See how we run it: Meta Ads Management.
What should a DTC brand look for in a Meta ads agency?
Six things matter more than any case study headline.- Tracking comes first. Meta can only optimize on the purchases it can see. Ask how the agency will set up the Meta pixel and the Conversions API, and how it will check for duplicate purchase events.
- A real creative testing process. On Meta, creative does most of the targeting work. Ask how many new concepts get tested each month, who makes them, and how winners are chosen.
- Reporting tied to your store’s revenue. Ads Manager credits purchases using its own attribution model, so it will rarely match your Shopify orders. A good partner reports both, and judges success on blended numbers such as total revenue against total ad spend.
- The post-click experience. An ad can’t fix a slow product page or a weak offer. Look for a team that can also work on landing pages and checkout, or that will at least tell you when the site is the bottleneck.
- Clear ownership. Your business should own the ad account, the pixel and the data, and the agency gets partner access. At MAG Growth, you always own everything: your ad accounts, pixel, Business Portfolio, data and creative.
- Named people and plain terms. Find out who builds the campaigns, who you talk to each week, and what the contract terms are before you sign.
How does MAG Growth run Meta ads for DTC brands?
We run Meta as part of one paid media plan with Google, TikTok and programmatic, not as a separate silo. What our Meta work covers:- Advantage+ sales campaigns (formerly Advantage+ Shopping).
- Catalog and dynamic product ads, synced to your product feed.
- Lookalike and interest stacking for prospecting.
- Dynamic creative optimization to test headline, image and copy combinations.
- Recovering lost Meta ads data through better tracking.
- Incrementality testing to find the revenue your ads actually drive.
- Campaign architecture across prospecting, retargeting and brand.
- Weekly bid, budget and audience optimization.
- Ad copy and a creative testing rotation.
- Pixel, Conversions API and GA4 event tracking.
- Weekly reporting and a monthly strategy review.
What results has MAG Growth delivered with Meta ads?
- Hutch Mountain: Meta Ads were inactive when we started. We launched a Meta Ads funnel with UGC video, bundle deals and cart retargeting. Meta Ads went from inactive to 11.02x ROAS in June 2026, and gross website revenue grew 141% in 3 months, from $112K in April 2026 to $272K in June 2026. Google Search, Performance Max, one-click Shopify upsells and email flows were part of the same plan.
- A health and wellness brand: Rising CPMs and declining ROAS were making the brand’s Meta campaigns unprofitable. We rebuilt the creative testing framework, built a landing page for each ad angle, and added post-purchase upsells. Results: 42% lower CAC, ROAS up from 1.8x to 3.4x, landing page conversion rate up 67%, and upsells adding 18% to AOV.
- A DTC electrolytes brand: Purchase tracking was broken and the store was barely converting. We fixed the tracking and launched a rebuilt Meta campaign on the same website. Store conversion rate went from 0.08% across May 2026 to 2.94% after launch, and cost per customer fell from $1,392 to $166. In the founder’s words: “Whatever we did, it helped.”
When is a Meta ads agency not the right fit yet?
An agency adds the most when the basics are already in place. It may be too early if:- The product has no proof yet. If no one buys from organic traffic, email or word of mouth, paid traffic usually makes that problem more expensive, not smaller.
- The store doesn’t convert. If visitors reach the product page and leave, fix the page first. Our free audit looks at this.
- The budget can’t feed the algorithm. Meta’s learning phase usually needs about 50 optimization events in 7 days for an ad set to stabilize. Very small budgets can stay stuck in “learning limited.”
